My family has redefined "prank" to mean "a surprise nice gesture you do for someone". So for example: sneaking out early in the morning to buy donuts for the whole family, or doing a household chore that's usually someone else's responsibility, or hiding a package of someone's favorite candy where they will find it unexpectedly. The key is that it is something that you know the prank recipient will be not just surprised but also happy about. I highly recommend this approach, it makes April Fool's Day much more fun imo

new favorite recipe

I have been obsessed with this dinner lately: pasta (any kind) + a sauce made of butter/lemon juice/pesto + roasted cherry tomatoes. I have made this 4 times in the past 3 weeks. It is so delicious and feels Fancy while still requiring a low enough amount of energy that I can actually manage to cook it on weeknights!!

From the linked post: "In this latest edition of “overthinking everything”, I designed a game to convince myself to do basic household chores. The game comprises two dice throws. The first throw says what to improve. The second throw says where to do it."

I too constantly have to come up with new systems to get my brain to do basic chores, and this one looks fairly promising :)
