This is what I managed to fit in my kit: black and white thread, sewing needles, straight pins, needle threader, safety pin, tapestry needle, and a knitting marker. And there's still some room, I could probably add some buttons or embroidery floss or something

I have just realized that an empty floss container makes for a pretty good mini sewing kit. The floss cutter is a built-in thread snipper!
