I finished these shorts a while ago, but just added a pocket today so now they're officially ready to wear. They're the Jog On Shorts by Knitatude; they were a joy to knit, the fit is great, and they're SO comfy!
I am already plotting another pair, though I might try a different pocket strategy next time (the pattern is pocketless but I added a patch one after the fact, it works ok for light items but I'm worried it would stretch out if I used it for heavier things like my phone for long periods of time)
#knitting concept for those of us who enjoy knitting on public transit: a scarf that you only work on while waiting for/riding transit, where you change colors depending on which train/bus line you're taking
Been playing with knit-and-purl stitch patterns lately. I really like blanket squares as a way to try out different stitches. Because they're small, they're a good canvas for experimentation, and they're also excellent for carrying around and working on whenever you have a few spare moments.
Finished knitting the Helical Cowl pattern recently. I made it fairly tall so it can be pulled up over the nose to keep the face warm. An unforeseen side effect of the height plus the white yarn: if it's not held in place by a hat, it can sort of flop down into a look that reminds me of an Elizabethan ruff collar
I've finally got my sweater to a point where I can try it on, and it fits!! Just have to knit the collar and weave in some remaining ends! This is my first time knitting a sweater— or any large garment, really— so I'm especially excited that it is turning out the way I wanted :)
Another item completed from my mending/repair list: I've had these headphones for years and the original ear pads were disintegrating. I knit a couple of small flat circles that I've been using as replacement ear pads, but they weren't attached in any way so they just had to be held on by the pressure of the headphones. Now I've added some little straps so that the ear pads can stay attached to the headphones even when I take them off. They're kind of wonky and messy because I improvised them, but they serve the purpose just fine! I am choosing to interpret the gaps where the headphones slide into the straps as "deliberate holes" for this week's #Fiberuary prompt :)
Making progress on the sweater... The sleeve is beginning to look like a real sleeve!
